Performing Advanced Search

You can also perform an advanced assets search based on the multiple search options available on the Advanced Search Options - Assets page.

Tip

To view the Advanced Search Options - Assets page, click the Advanced Search Options - Assets link.

To perform an advanced assets search

1.    In the Search Assets section, click the Advanced Search link.

The Advanced Search Options - Assets window opens.

2.    Specify the following search parameters:

o      In the Asset Number, VIN/Serial Number or License Plate box, type the exact or the partial asset number, vehicle identification number, or license number that you want to search.

o      In the Asset Organization list, select the asset organization.

o      In the Department list, select the asset department.

o      In the Asset Shop list, select the asset shop.

o      In the Year box, type the year of the asset.

o      In the Make list, select the make of the asset.

o      In the Model list, select the model of the asset.

o      In the Class list, select the classification of the asset.

o      In the Other list, select a parameter based on which you want to further narrow down the search.

o      Select the Exact Match check box if you are sure that you have entered the correct text in the Asset Number, Serial Number or License box.

o      Select the Include Closed and Deleted assets in Search Results check box to view the closed and deleted assets.

3.    Click Search.

The Search Results grid displays the assets along with the following information:

o      Asset Number

o      Asset Organization

o      License

o      Serial Number

o      Year

o      Make

o      Model

o      Class

o      Asset Shop

o      Department

4.    In the Action column, click the View link next to the asset that you want to view.

Navigation Tips:

  • You can expand or collapse panels by clicking on the arrow to the right of the title bars.
  • You can sort items by any category by clicking on that category's column heading.
  • You can move the panels by clicking and dragging the panel to the desired location.
  • You can move the columns in the data grid by dragging the column heading to the desired location.
  • To page through the list, use the arrows at the top or bottom of the panel. You can also specify here whether to display the entire list or ten items at a time.

Exporting the Search Results Grid

You can export the Search Results grid in the following formats:

·       Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)

·       Microsoft Word (.docx)

·       Comma-Separated Values (.csv)

To export the search results grid

1.    Click the Microsoft Excel ( ), Microsoft Word ( ), or Comma-Separate Value ( ) icon in the upper-right corner of the Search Results grid.

The File Download dialog box opens prompting you to Open, Save, or Cancel.

2.    Click Save.

The Save As dialog box is displayed with the File Type of the selected format.

3.    Browse to the desired location, specify a file name, and then click Save.

The Search Results grid is saved in the specified format at the specified location.
