Assigning the Asset to the Pending Repair

Once you add a new pending repair, you can assign the asset to the repair.

Tip

To view the Assign Asset  tab, click the Assign Asset link.

To assign an asset to the pending repair

1.    In the Manage Shop Floor Activity section, click Pending Repairs.

2.    Click the Add a New Pending Repair link.

3.    In the Pending Repair dialog box, specify the details of the new pending repair. For more information, refer to Adding the Pending Repair Details.

4.    Click Search.

The Assign Asset  tab on the Pending Repair page opens.

5.    In the Assign Assets tab, specify the search parameters to search the assets that you want to assign to the pending repair.

a.    In the Asset Number, VIN/Serial Number or License box, type the asset number, vehicle identification number (VIN)/serial number, or license of the asset.

b.    In the Asset Organization list, select the asset organization.

c.     In the Department list, select the department assigned to the asset.

d.    In the Year box, type the year of manufacture of the asset.

e.    In the Make list, select the make of the asset.

f.      In the Model list, select the model of the asset.

g.    In the Class list, select the class of the asset.

h.    Optionally, select the Include Closed and Deleted assets in Search Results check box to display the assets that are closed or deleted.

i.      Optionally, if you know the exact asset number, vehicle identification number (VIN)/serial number, or the license of the asset, select the Exact Match check box to exactly match the search result with the search parameters.

6.    Click Search.

The Search Results grid displays the assets searched based on the search parameter.

7.    Select the check box corresponding to the assets to assign the assets to the pending repair and then click the Assign Selected Asset link to assign the selected asset.

The Assign Pending Repair Details dialog box opens.

8.    In the Assign Pending Repair Details dialog box, do the following:

  1. In the Estimated Start Date field, type the start date and time of the repair in the MM/DD/YY HH:MM AM/PM format, or select the future date from the calendar and time from the clock.

  2. In the Estimated Hours field, type the estimated hours required to complete the repair.

  3.  In the Shift field, type the shift of the technician for repair.

  4. In the Technician field, type the name of the technician who works on the repair.

  5. Click one of the following:

§      Save to save the information.

§      Cancel to disregard the changes.

 

Note:

On the Pending Repair Item page, you can:

  • Click the Return to Pending Repairs link to open the Pending Repairs page.

  • Click the Return to Shop Floor link to open the  Shop Floor Activities page.

  • Click the Edit Pending Repair link to open the Edit Pending Repair dialog box.

  • Click the  Delete Pending Repair link to open the Delete Pending Repair dialog box.
