Repair Group Component Action

The Repair Group Component Action tab lets you assign components to a group, and actions to the assigned components.

·      Add New Repair Group Component Action

·      Edit Repair Group Component Action

Tip

To view the Repair Group Component Action tab, click the Repair Group Component Action  link.

Adding New Repair Group Component Action

The Add New Repair Group Component Action dialog box lets you assign components and action to a repair group.

Note: In order to assign components and action to a repair group, you must first create a repair group in FASTER Web. For information about creating a repair group in FASTER Web, see Group.

Tip

To view the Add New Repair Group Component Action dialog box, click the Add New Repair Group Component Action link.

To add a repair group component action

1.    Open the Repair Codes page.

The Repair Group Component Action is selected by default.

2.    Click the Add New Repair Group Component Action link.

The Add New Repair Group Component Action dialog box opens.

3.    In the Repair Group list, select a repair group.

Note: The Repair Group list displays the groups to which components and actions are not assigned.

4.    To assign components to the group, do the following as required:

§      To add components, select the component in the Available Components box and click .

§      To add all the components, click Add all.

§      To remove component, select the component in the Selected Components box and click Remove.

§      To remove all the components, click Remove all.

5.    Click one of the following:

§      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

§      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

6.    In the Component list, select the component.

Note: After you save the components for the group, the selected components are displayed in the Component list. Select each component from the list, and then assign actions to each component as required.

7.    In the Available Actions list, select the actions, and then click the appropriate button to move them to Selected Actions list and vice versa.

8.    To assign actions to the component, do the following as required

§      To add action, select the action in the Available Actions box and click .

§      To add all the actions, click Add all.

§      To remove action, select the action in the Selected Actions box and click Remove.

§      To remove all the actions, click Remove all.

9.    When finished, click one of the following:

§      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

§      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

Editing Repair Group Component Action

The Edit Repair Group Component Action dialog box lets you modify the components and/or actions of a group.

Tip

To view the Edit Repair Group Component Action dialog box, click the Edit Repair Group Component Action link.

To search and modify the components of a group

1.    Open the Repair Codes page.

The Repair Group Component Action is selected by default.

2.    In the Search - Repair Group Component Action section, select a group name, and then click Search.

The Search Result section displays the list of repair codes for the selected group.

3.    Click Edit next to a group description.

The Edit Repair Group Component Action dialog box opens.

4.    In the Available Component and Selected Component fields, do the following as required:

§      Add or remove components

§      Update the asset warranty type and status of the component.

Note:

  • The Asset Warranty Type column displays the warranty type of the component as configured in the Warranty Claims section of the Assets module. If the warranty type for the component is not added in FASTER Web, the asset warranty type for the component is not displayed. You can select an option from the Asset Warranty Type list to assign or modify the warranty type.
  • You can make a component obsolete or available by selecting the appropriate option from the Status list. After you make the component obsolete, the selected component is not displayed in the Available Component section. Hence, you cannot use the component for future transaction in FASTER Web. You can select Available to display the component in the Available Component section.

To update the asset warranty type and/ or status of the component:

i.      In the Selected Components section, click the Edit link next to the Component.

The Asset Warranty Type and Status fields become editable.

ii.     Select the required option from the Asset Warranty Type list and/ or Status list.

iii.   Click one of the following:

5.    When finished, click one of the following:

§      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

§      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

§      Delete to permanently delete the component from FASTER Web

To modify the action for a component

1.    Open the Edit Repair Group Component Action dialog box.

2.    Do one of the following:

§      Add or remove actions.

§      Edit the status of a selected action

To modify the status of a selected action

i.      In the Selected Actions section, click the Edit link next to the appropriate action..

The Status fields become editable.

ii.     Select the required option from the  Status list.

Note: You can make an action obsolete or available by selecting the appropriate option. After you make the action obsolete, the selected action is not displayed in the Available Action section. Hence, you cannot add the action for any component in future. You can select Available to display the asset in the Available Action section.

iii.   Click one of the following:

§      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

§      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
