A direct charge is created to record and track the general repairs conducted for assets of a department. You can create a direct charge for a specific asset or a group of assets in a department.
The information contained in a direct charge includes the following:
· Repairs performed under the department
· Parts, if any, issued for the repair
· Additional cost, if any, charged for the repair
· Add-on information such as Notes and Attachments

To view the Create Direct Charge Document dialog box, click the Create Direct Charge Document link.
1. Click the Maintenance module.
2. In the Actions section, click Create Direct Charges.
The Create a Departmental Direct Charge page opens.
3. In the Department list, select a department, and then click Create a Direct Charge.
The Create Direct Charge Document dialog box opens.
4. Optionally, in the Asset Organization list, select the asset organization.
5. Optionally, in the Asset Number box, type the asset number.
6. Click the Verify link to verify if the asset is present in FASTER Web.
7. The Maintenance Shop list displays the maintenance shops that are assigned to the user, select the required maintenance shop from the list.

8. The Status list displays the current status of the direct charge. Optionally, select a different status.
9. The Bill Code list displays the billing type assigned to the asset. Optionally, select a different bill code.
10. In the Contact box, type the contact person. While typing a contact, the box is filled according to the search contact person text, select the contact associated with the asset for any asset-related query.
Note: The Contact box searches and displays only those contacts that are associated with the asset. If direct charge is not associated with an asset, then the Contact box searches a contact person from FASTER contacts. This is not a required field. |
11. The Date/Time In field displays the current date and time. Optionally, type the date and time in the MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AM/PM format, or select the date from the calendar and time from the clock.
Note: While creating direct charge for a maintenance shop, the Approved Above Threshold check box is available only when:

12. Optionally, in the Symptom box, type the reason for the asset maintenance.
13. Click one of the following:
o Save to save the information and close the dialog box.
o Save & New to save the information and add another record.
o Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
