In the fuel import file, some fields may have a certain number of zeroes added to/ removed from the field value. For example, asset number A534 may have extra zeroes prefixed to it and appear as 0000A534 in the import file. Since the asset number in FASTER Web is A534, the fuel transaction with asset number 0000A534 is rejected during fuel import.
The Data Transformation section lets you set behavior to add or remove zeroes in such field values to match it with the original value as present in the FASTER Web database.
Note: You can only set behavior for fields whose values include alphabet. For fields such as Transaction Number, since the value includes only numbers, you cannot set behavior to it. For such fields, Data Transformation section is disabled.

§ To add specific number of 0s, select Add a static number of 0s, and then type the exact number of 0s in the Number of 0s to add text box. For example, if you want to add three 0s to the asset number, the asset number 1012 in the import file is transformed to 0001012 during import.
§ To remove specific number of 0s, select Remove a static number of 0s, and then type the exact number of 0s in the Number of 0s to remove text box. For example, if you want to remove three 0s from the asset number, the asset number 0000001012 in the import file is transformed to 0001012 during import.
§ To add/ remove 0s to meet the target length of the field, select Add/Remove 0s to target length, and then type the maximum character length of the field in the Target length of field box. For example, if the asset number in the import file is 1012 and if you set the target length of the field to 8, the asset number in the import file is automatically transformed to 00001012.
§ To remove all the leading 0s, select Remove all leading 0s. For example, if the asset number in the import file is 0001012, the 0s are automatically removed during import and the asset number becomes 1012.
5. Click Save.
The created behavior is displayed in the Transformations section.
Note: Follow the same procedure to add multiple transformation behaviors for the selected field type. Click Close to close the Configurations dialog box.
