Creating New Account

The Create New Account dialog box lets you create a new account with an initial budget information in FASTER Web.

Tip

To view the Create New Account dialog box, click the Create New Account link.

    To create a new account

    1.    Click the Accounting module.

    2.    In the Actions section, click Create New Account.

    The Create New Account dialog box opens.

    3.    In the Account Number box, type the account number.

    4.    In the Account Name box, type a name for the account.

    5.    In the Organization list, select the FASTER organization to which the account belongs.

    6.    In the Account Type list, select an account type such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Bank, or Cash.

    7.    In the Account Status list, select the account status such as Active, Inactive, or Closed.

    Note: You can also fill in the following optional fields:

    • In the Subaccount of list, select an existing account (if applicable) under which you want to create the account.

    • In the Tax-Line Mapping list, select a taxation method for calculating taxes.

    • In the Comment box, type a brief description about the account.

    • In the External Group list, select the group.

    • In the External Account Code box, type the code of the External Group.

    8.    In the Fiscal Year list, select the year of budget.

    9.    In the Budgeted Amount box, type the amount that you want to set as budget for the fiscal year.

    10.  In the Encumbrances box, type the amount to hold for items which are ordered but not yet received.
