Adding the Work Order Details

You can add the work order details in the Create Asset Work Order Document dialog box.

Tip

To view the Create Asset Work Order Document dialog box, click the Create Asset Work Order Document link.

To add the work order details

1.    Open the Create Asset Work Order Document dialog box.

2.    The Maintenance Shop list displays the default maintenance shop assigned to the asset for repair. Optionally, select a different maintenance shop.

3.    The Status list displays the current status of the work order which is Active by default. Optionally, select a different status.

4.    Optionally, select the Disable Downtime Tracking check box if you do not want to calculate the asset downtime.

You can not edit the Disable Downtime Tracking check box after creating the work order.

Note:

While creating work order for a maintenance shop, the Approved Above Threshold check box is available only when:

  • The Spending Authorization maintenance settings is set to Yes in the Setup > Application Setup > Maintenance > Settings > Edit Maintenance/TWS Settings section.

  • An Approval Threshold Amount is defined for that maintenance shop in the Setup > Application Setup > Maintenance > Fields > Maintenance Shop picklist field > Add/Edit New Item section. The total cost of work order for that maintenance shop must be less than or equal to the specified threshold amount.

To override the total cost of work order above the specified threshold amount, the user roles with Can Authorize Spending permission can select the Approved Above Threshold check box and save the work order details. For others, an Authorization dialog box opens to login with the user credentials having Can Authorize Spending permission. On successful authorization, the work order details are saved. Also, the authorization of work order total cost above the specified threshold amount is required only once.
If you are using the AD FS Mode - FASTER and AD FS Authentication mode and cannot approve the spending limit, refer to the Note on the Maintenance/TWS Settings page for more information.

5.    In the Reading column of the Meter Information section, type the current meter reading.

Note:

The Meter Information section displays the meter types that are added to the asset and their actual meter readings.

  • For each meter type, if the work order meter reading is set to require in the asset, you must specify a valid meter reading in the Reading box according to the readings in the Actual box and cannot leave the Reading box blank. If the meter reading that you specify in the Reading box is invalid, an error message is displayed in the Errors/Warnings column after you save the work order details. In the Action column, you can select the option to accept the reading as invalid or override the actual meter reading. Required meter readings are marked with a red asterisk character (*).
  • If the work order meter reading for a meter type is set to optional in the asset, you can leave the Reading box blank. In this case FASTER Web ignores the meter reading for the asset meter type. If you specify a meter reading in the Reading box, the reading must be valid. If you specify an invalid meter reading, an error message is displayed in the Errors/Warnings column when you save the work order details. In the Action column, you can select the option to accept the reading as invalid or override the actual meter reading.

6.    The Department list displays the department assigned to the asset. Optionally, select a different department.

7.    The Date/Time In field displays the current date and time. Optionally, type the date and time in the MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS AM/PM format, or select the date from the calendar and time from the clock.
